Dirty art

A collaboration exhibition on the "Blank Space" gallery inspired by the same thoughts as "street gifts". Along with three other established graffiti painters/street Artists we created an interactive exhibition in which the public was urged to demolish the parts of the exhibit as gifts. We played with the question of who really owns the street art, and the recognition of this art form.

We started by "tagging" a message on the White gallery walls. Then we hang up the canvas and the wallpaper parts in various sizes over the text, and covered these with each our "graffiti style". We hung up several layers of canvas and painted over each layer. When the guests tore art loose at the opening, the wall became a puzzle, with the message being left at the end: "If you have a house, I'm a Painter".
